Seems like only yesterday that I was doing this….(February 2009)

Finally….

The anxious wait is finally over. The rescheduled timetable for the iPSLE is out. 21st and 22nd August…which are also the moving dates. *Scream*….

This has been one kind of experience for all of us. Never have I gone through this. I reminded Kai that this is what life is all about. Anything can happen and anything will happen. Most importantly, one must always be prepared to change course, take the necessary action.

With God, all things are possible lah!

Yes, here we go again…

These came in today…

In the last 4 to 5 years, we have shifted three countries and four houses. Tell me if I am not a pro in packing things. You can hire me as professional mover. I charge by the hour. *WINK*

Packing my beloved KitchenAid mixer. My faithful helper who has never failed me. Bought it in USA, at half the fraction of what you would have to pay in SG. With a transformer, all things are possible. See, I still have the original packaging. Treat her well and she will treat me well.
More frustrations

Now the Science paper is also postponed because the weather forecast said that the typhoon will continue for the next two days. So the city school council has issued statement to have all schools closed. Guess what?

…this is the weather we are having out there now. Does it even look like a rainy day, let alone a typhoon!  Well…..

I can only remain positive and release positive energy to my dear son who has visibly reached saturation point for studying. You know, in economics, there is this thing call, The Law of Diminishing Returns. Basically means once you have reached beyond a certain level of work, the productivity level starts to slide downwards. There must be an end to studying so that one can rest, re-charged and soar again. As usual, instead of sitting here, waiting and reading mails with "will get back to you". I emailed SEAB personally to check when will be the rescheduled date. At least we have a date to work on.

With the impending repatriation and this rescheduled examination....only one word FRUSTRATING!

So sian…..

The Math paper 1 and 2 have to be postponed because of this…

Tropical Storm Haikui is currently 140 miles south of Shanghai, China. The storm generated wind speeds of up to 93 mph, and heavy rainfall, which has caused flash floods. All flights at Shanghai's Hongqiao and Pudong airports have been cancelled. Similar reports from Hangzhou Xiaoshan, Ningbo Lishe and Wenzhou Yongqiang international airports located in Zhejiang.Travekllers are encouraged to contact their airlines for flight-specific information. Flight disruptions and airport closures may last several days. Some facilities have closed. Travellers and employees should check with their local office to determine office status.

We (parents and students) were all eager to finish off the exams so we could have a well deserved break. Now SEAB has to set new questions and courier over. This, I think will take another week or so. Really sian. Poor Kai.

While kids are enjoying their summer vacation, these two are stuck at home. BUT….some fun activities are waiting for them! *WINK*

Homemade TV dinners. Trying to "stretch" my rice till the very last day of my stay here.

Once again, reminded to live life to the fullest

Since young, I have this habit of even reading the obituary page in the papers. This habit carries on till now. Yesterday when I was reading the e-Straits Times, I saw an obituary on a young woman, just 48 years old. The name was extremely familiar. Looking at the husband's name, I realised that she was one of my client. I was doing wedding cards at a design house and I did theirs in the early 90s. It was with a heavy heart indeed to learn that someone so young has passed on.

What can I say but to live life to the fullest each day.

Memories …

never fail to flood your mind when packing.

Good old days' report books. The spouse and mine. Loads of cards and letters from friends

Some people like to erase memories. They thrashed all the old things but for me, a sentimental freak, good ones or bad ones, I will keep them. They all make up my life.

...Felt the heat of the sun beating,
Could sense an awe that the past left,
Saw the sheath of life fleeting,
Glimpses of what was there were best

Today is 1 August…

August has never been this good. I am starting my count down. No lah, not for National Day.

Nine days to go before Kai ends his iPSLE. A great soldier, a great conqueror. He has indeed raised a high standard for himself. Three major tests in three months. I think he has reached the saturation point for studying. A learning journey which I hope he will remember for the rest of his life.

28 days to go…an end to my nomadic life, at least for now. The anticipation is something which I cannot describe even using the mighty pen or rather the mighty keyboard. Nice to go back to childhood friends, nice to go back to family's parties which we all dread going (ok, don't bluff lah if you say you have never felt that way). But, I also bring back with me great experiences and great friends whom I have met, whether virtually or physically. Thanks for standing by me.
