Wonderful chocolate cake
I tried out this new recipe and it was simply heavenly.

Even the overnight cakes were still delicious. I think it has to do with adding the  melted chocolate into the mixture instead of just adding cocoa  powder.

Our bento dinner

It's mid-week and it is still raining. It hasn't stopped since Monday. Yeap, it is dreary, wet and miserable. Decided to put something on the table which will put a smile on their faces…

…and I did. Look at that happy girl. When I was about to snap, her face appeared!

What's in the bento? Grilled mackerel with unagi sauce, steamed shrimp dumplings, fried anchovies, Japanese rice seasoned with minced pork. onions, eggs and seaweed. Healthy and YUM-MO!

Wooden chest. If I buy this from Lim's Arts and Crafts at Holland V, it will sure to burn a hole in my pocket

These chairs reminded me of my childhood days at my grandma's village

This is a beauty (at least to me). I actually saw it the first time but didn't get it. Went home and thought of it for the longest time, the spouse decided to get it for me

I think this colour will match my interior deco back home
Preached it like no one else

I love the way this pastor preaches. I love the way he dissects the Bible verses and shows us new revelations. No one does it better than him. Really.

Taken from Luke 1 : 5 – 37. Elizabeth and Mary both found out they will soon be pregnant.
A brief background to these two ladies.

Elizabeth - married to Zacharias, a certain priest. They were both righteous in the sight of God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and requirements of the Lord but have no child because Elizabeth was barren, and they were both advanced in years.

Mary - a virgin engaged to a man whose name was Joseph,  descendant of David. An angel appeared before her and said that she has found favour with God and will conceive in  her womb, and bear a son.

Looking at these two ladies, in our human mind, it made more sense and more believable for Elizabeth to give birth. Simple fact that she was a married woman. Instead, God chose Mary, a virgin, to give birth to Jesus. Now, through centuries, many have questioned how could a virgin give birth? Many preachers have gave the answer that Mary was the chosen one. Shouldn't Elizabeth be the chosen one too after all she was blameless, leading a holy life too.

Today, this preacher has enlightened me. To choose Mary, a virgin, to give birth to Jesus, shows that God's choice is never base on human standard but the Grace of God. It shows the miracles of God.
How true.
Roast lamb, the Moroccan style

Another Jamie O's recipe. The use of cumin and tumeric powder, a great combination with leg of lamb. Just look at the juicy, succulent meat.

Baked potato slices with onions, fennel (leaves only), salt and pepper. (These potatoes were not baked yet) Sorry, no pictures on the finished product.

The leftover roast lamb was used for making pizza, using frozen naan bread.  One leg of lamb for two meals. Great choice!
Speaking with conviction and in boldness

Most people like to hear what they like to hear. Words that are nice to their ears…I call them 'sugar-coated words'. Not sure about you, I surely don't like that. However, to be harsh and with no compassion isn't the way to go. One must be able to speak strongly, boldly with conviction, peppered with love. I so love my pastor here.

"My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, Nor faint when you are reproved by Him; For those whom the Lord loves He disciplines, ..." Hebrews 12:5,6

It is not that…

I haven't been blogging, those postings were cold-storaged as drafts. Have been so busy following news at home, back to being a political observer again. Another election looming in the horizon…
